From TDL to TTCN-3

Philip Makedonski, Martti Käärik

Abstract

his tutorial will briefly introduce both TTCN-3 and TDL, including their scope and limitations as well as the semantic gaps between them. With the ultimate goal of showcasing how executable TTCN-3 code can be derived from a higher level TDL test description, we will explain in detail the necessary steps and assumptions, as well as common challenges associated with mapping languages at different levels of abstraction, supported by illustrative examples. The tutorial is based on the standardised mapping of TDL to TTCN-3 and its prototypical implementation as part of the TDL open-source project.
