Student Assistant Position for AI-generated Code Quality Project

We are currently looking for a motivated student assistant to support our research project “AI-Generated vs. Human-Written Code: Comparing Quality and Test Demand”. The project investigates whether AI-generated Java code differs from human-written code with respect to code quality and testing effort. The student assistant will support:
  • Experiments with large language models
  • Dataset preparation and curation
  • Static code quality analysis
  • Test execution, code coverage analysis, and mutation testing
  • Manual validation of generated code
  • Preparation of research artifacts
Applicants should have:
  • Good Java programming skills
  • Familiarity with software testing concepts
  • Experience with Git and common software development tools
Experience with JUnit, SonarQube, mutation testing tools, large language models, or empirical research methods will be beneficial but is not required. The position is available for 5 months, with a workload of up to 80 hours per month. The start date will be agreed upon individually.
